About ENVIS:

Centre for Environment Education (CEE) is the ENVIS Centre on Environmental Education (EE) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC). ENVIS Government of India, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC).

ENVIS is a decentralized network of subject-oriented Centres of which CEE is the Centre on EE. ENVIS is a national effort in environmental information collection, collation, storage, retrieval and dissemination.  

Under the ENVIS initiative, CEE requires:


Project Officer (ENVIS)

Profile: Project Officer (ENVIS) will be responsible for assisting the Coordinator ENVIS in executing the ENVIS function of the Centre which includes handling queries on education and communication for environment-development. Also be responsible for supporting the other ENVIS functions through working on other components such as the ENVIS website, the ENVIS newsletter. The incumbent shall also be responsible for documenting the ENVIS project activities, prepare reports and support in meeting up the various requirements that the Ministry would ask for under the ENVIS Project.

Educational Qualification: MSc / MA (Education / Life-sciences / Environment Science)
Experience: 3-5 years
Appointment: 1 year initially

Salary: 25,000 - 30,000 / - per month depending on qualification and experience

Information Officer (ENVIS)

Profile: The Information Officer will be responsible for management of databases and archival system. Work would include information sourcing, compilation, updating and retrieval in the field of environmental education and education for sustainable development, including CEE’s work. The Officer will also be responsible for handling the Query-Answer Management Service and keeping records of the same. The Information Officer will also be responsible for ENVIS website and newsletter, and for liaison with other agencies and institutions for sourcing relevant environmental education work related information for ENVIS.

Educational Qualifications: Masters degree in Science or equivalent with good knowledge of computers.
Experience: 3-5 years
Appointment: One year initially

Salary: 22,000 – 25,000 /- per month depending on qualification and experience

IT Assistant (ENVIS)

Profile: IT assistant will be responsible for providing technical and back up support for CEE ENVIS website. The incumbent will be required to develop a CMS based website for NIC platform by understanding the website structure and design. Key tasks would include:

  • Create and organize databases for books, articles, journal, audio-visuals, photobank, organization ,people, project, activities, case studies;
  • Provide technical support for the ENVI website t function as a Knowledge Management Platform
  • Develop and online Query Answer Management System
  • Employ web analytics

Develop and maintain ENVIS website on ASP.NET platform compatible with NIC server/platform and applications

Educational Qualification: Graduate/B.E / B. Tech (Software Engineering / IT / Computer Engineering / Computer Application) or MBA (IT) / MCA / Graduate with relevant advance certificate courses in software programming and website development), Diploma in web-designing, web development and database development

Required Software/Programming Skills

  • Language: ASP.NET, Java, PHP, Javascript, CSS, C++
  • DATA BASE: SQL Server, MySQL
  • Software: Dreamweaver, Visual Studio

Experience: 3-5 years
Appointment: One year initially

Web Developer (CEE)

Job Description

  • Architecture, Frameworks and templates for new websites
  • Develop, Design, Code and modify websites
  • Develop interactive platforms on website such as online discussion forums and Query-Answer Management System
  • Develop the layout and functionality of the website and implement best practices in graphic/web design and web programming,
  • Along with a visually appealing and interactive website, developing and ensuring a user-friendly and clear navigation website.
  • Is responsible for the maintenance and additions to the website; keeping the site up-to-date by ensuring priority to uploading tasks
  • Creating and organizing databases for books, articles, journal, audio-visuals, photobank, organizations, people, projects, activities, case studies.
  • Employ web analytics; develop web tools for community building
  • Candidate must have a strong understanding of User Interface, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.
  • Strong grasp of security principles and experience of integrating e-Commerce application and payment gateways integration and analytics.
  • Experience in planning and delivering software and online platforms like Intranet.
  • Integrate and use new and emerging technologies in web-programming, graphic design and database administration

  • Knowledge and experience of working on mobile based technologies

CEE's Nature Education Programme (NEP) requires following professionals at CEE Karnataka Office, Bengaluru.

Camp Officers / Tutors (3 positions): To organize and conduct camps both within India and International. Post Graduate with at least one year camping experience, and interest in the field of forest and wildlife is preferred. Knowing local language of Kannada will be an advantage. Graduate with 2 years of experience of conducting Nature Camps can apply too. A Consolidated salary in range of Rs. 20,000 – Rs. 25,000 per month, based on qualification and experience which will be all inclusive.

PROJECT OFFICER, Human Resource

Essential Qualifications:
Qualification: First Class Masters in HR management/ Social work or equivalent. Relevant experience of 2 years preferred.

Key functions of Project Officer, HR
Be a part of the Human and Institutional Development (HID) team engaged in developing Systems, Guidelines and Processes related to HID matters

  • Induction and Orientation for the new recruits
  • Working with systems for supporting staff probationary periods
  • Documenting, Updating and analyzing HRIS for a variety of purpose
  • Developing and documenting Standard Operating Procedures
  • Providing Secretarial support to Centre’s Senior Management Committees
  • Implementing Centre’s Performance Management System based on KPAs
  • Coordinating Training and Development Initiatives
  • Providing support for Recruitment and Talent Management function
  • Developing systems, guidelines and procedures related to human resource and institutional development work
  • Piloting systems for effective intra-institutional communication and collaboration;
  • Enhancing synergies within the institution and setting systems for effective performance appraisal system and other HR support
