Project appointments are short term recruitments to meet the needs of specific projects.

Project Officer – Two positions

Environmental Impact assessments and post project clearance monitoring are mandatory for all developmental projects in India. The process of monitoring of projects post environmental clearance is still evolving in the country. CEE is working on model to demonstrate participatory compliance monitoring process to ensure both independent M&E and consultation at the local level prior to the submission of these reports. 

Centre for Environment Education (CEE) is seeking to recruit Project Officer Level to work in the areas of environmental compliance and monitoring aspect at its office in Kutch region of Gujarat. The person would be working with Sustainable Business and Climate change group which works in the areas of industry, participatory compliance monitoring and sustainable business practices.

This position requires travel and coordination between head office and site locations.

Project Officer – Social Compliance

Place of Posting: Mundra, Kachchh, Gujarat

Position – Project officer – Environmental Compliance – Post 1

Job responsibilities/tasks of the PO – Environmental Compliance:

  • Responsibility of conducting field based monitoring and assessments through survey
  • Ability to lead a team of volunteers for conducting field tests
  • Coordinating voluntary activities for field surveys
  • Working with community and colleges on environmental impact assessment and compliance issues
  • Train and monitor the field investigators to assure quality of data collection
  • Develop analysis and project reports
  • Results collation and compilation  

Eligibility - PO – Environmental Compliance:  

  • Should be a Post Graduate in environmental science with minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience, persons with higher experience will be given higher priority
  • Experience in Environmental impact assessment and coastal zone projects would be an advantage
  • Should have good communication skills for liaison with various partners  

Position – Project officer – Social Compliance – Post 1 

Major Job responsibilities/tasks of the PO – Social Compliance:

  • Conduct social audits and address compliance issues linked with community
  • Conducting focus group discussions
  • Ability to engage with community organizations,  conduct stakeholder engagement and networking among Civil society groups
  • Conducting field based monitoring and assessments through survey
  • Ability to lead a team of volunteers for social audits
  • Coordinating voluntary activities for social surveys
  • working with colleges and community groups on designing social audits
  • Results collation and compilation
  • Report writing  

Eligibility – Social Compliance

  • Should be a Post Graduate in social science with minimum of 2-3 years of experience, person with higher experience will be given preference.
  • Communication skills and understanding of Gujarati will be an added advantage

Salary: Consolidated Rs. 20,000/- per month, salary commensurate with experience
