DNA Clubs

DNA Clubs Project:

In February 2008 CEE-Delhi took up a project of monitoring and coordinating the activities of Department of Biotechnology's Natural Resources Awareness Clubs and the Regional Resource Agencies covering 23 states and Union Territories.

The project’s aim is to enhance understanding among students about the immense value of biological diversity of our country, the importance of locally available bio-resources, their sustainable use and conservation, and current status, emerging threats, etc.

The project also aim to equip them with relevant skills for Bio-resource Conservation, to familiarize students with scientific and technological issues related to biotechnology, to provide students with an experiential learning opportunity, to create opportunities to hands-on experience in the field at the school level, to organize field trips to Institutes of national or regional importance, conservation areas of the country and to stimulate student interest in pursuing careers in science and technology, and inform them on current and emerging trends in field.
