The CEE International Sustainability Exchange Program

As part of its long term association with the United Nations, UNEP and UNESCO, CEE is committed to creating leadership towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. CEE has been offering a range of short term international sustainability exchange programs at its lush green campus in Ahmedabad, India. These courses are designed to cater to mobility placement requests from a wide range of universities abroad including from the Netherlands, Sweden and Australia.

Sustainability Exchange Program (SEP) provides the participants with exposure to the social, environmental and cultural diversity of India in their respective disciplinary areas with a view to gaining a better understanding of the complex dimensions of sustainability.

Features of SEP

  • Classroom sessions

    Participants are provided with an insight into many current issues and debates related to sustainability in their respective subjects through resource persons that include academics, institutional directors, program coordinators and field experts.

  • Workshops

    The workshops enable students to be actively involved in hands-on learning sessions with the help of experts and through varied methodologies, with exchange of intercultural foregrounds being discussed along with the implementation of co-learning processes.

  • Peer learning sessions

    Interactions and discussions with peer groups are organised for participants to dialogue on their respective experiences and educational inputs. Students are able to exchange experiences in their respective countries and learn from each other through examples and ideas. This builds a basis for cross cultural peer to peer learning.

  • Projects and team assignments

    The participants are divided into teams to work on projects or assignments during the course. This enhances their ability to cooperate and work in teams. These activities include outdoor as well as indoor sessions.

  • Field visits

    CEE, as a globally recognized institution in the field of Environment and Sustainable Development Education, has a network of project offices focused on sustainability, rural and urban development outcomes. Visits are organised to institutions/field sites relevant to the learning outcomes of each group.

    Students also get an opportunity to experience local culture and heritage and participate in seasonal cultural festivals.

  • Reflection and self-discovery

    Each participant is provided with a reflection log where they note down their learnings and feedback which are discussed at the valedictory session. This helps in the overall improvement of the outlook of the students and consolidate their learnings.

Upcoming

An overwhelming response to Sustainability Exchange Programme 2017 led us to design and implement yet another programme for the students of Nursing stream from Central Queensland University in October 2017.
