Awareness Programme on Clay Ganesh idols:

Every year an awareness campaign is carried near the Hussain Sagar Lake during Ganesh Chathurdi with the support of Buddha Purnima Project. The main aim of the programme is to create awareness on importance of clay idols and usage of natural colors. The activities under this campaign included: 

• Putting banners around Hussain Sagar near the immersion points

• Organizing rallies involving college students as volunteers

• Distribution of pamphlets on advantages of clay idols and natural colours

• Organizing workshops for preparation of clay idols using natural colours

• In 2008, around 2000 clay idols with Patri (21 varieties of leaves that are used in worship) were sold near the NTR Garden to encourage the usage of clay idols.

Consultations on Coastal Management Zone:

CEE has organized consultations on draft Coastal Management Zone (CMZ) notification in four coastal district of Andhra Pradesh with the support of Ministry of Environment and Forest.  The aim of the programme is to create awareness on CMZ notification in public and take their views/ comments.  For better understanding of the draft has been translated into Telugu with the help of Depart of Translation.  This translated notification was distributed to public during the consultations. The views/comments of all consultations are submitted to MoEF in the form of report.

CSR activities:

CEE AP has been facilitating environmental awareness programmes of Accenture as part of their CSR initiatives. Few employees of Accenture have organised a club - ‘Bhoomi’. As part of these awareness programmes, the club members participate in various environmentally proactive activities and initiatives. The following activities have been conducted as part of these programmes:

• Cycle rallies around Hussain Sagar to sensitize citizens towards conservation of the Lake.

• Environmental awareness programme for visitors and children at Nehru Zoological Park.

• Photo exhibition on nature to create awareness about nature and wildlife
