The Nature Education Programme integrates environmental learning into the curriculum to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of the natural world. Its purpose is to promote environmental awareness, inspire sustainable practices, and encourage active participation in conservation efforts. By connecting students with the natural world, the programme aims to build a foundation for responsible environmental stewardship and lifelong eco-friendly habits.
Centre for Environment Education (CEE) implements environmental education through its Nature Education Programme in partnership with various partners. The "Greening Minds" -
Nature Education Programme, implemented in schools in partnership with TVS Motors, provide students with hands-on experiences in man-made forests and witness the conservatory implementations on campus to mitigate climate change and pollution. This initiative helps students connect with and gain a deeper understanding of natural environments through direct interaction with these created forest areas and adopt certain green initiatives through outreach program.
Purpose of the Project
Responsible for creating and implementing plans and strategies for training teachers and students to effectively deliver the educational program. This involves providing hands-on experiences, outdoor learning opportunities, and activities that enable teachers and students to analyze, document, and apply environmental concepts. Additionally, the role involves establishing the TCCPC (Teacher-Child-Child-Parent-Community) link to promote environmental security and nature conservation within the community.

About the Project:
Centre for Environment Education is implementing an Integrated Waste Management Project –“EcoGram” in Guwahati, Assam. This is one of the initiatives of the Hyundai Motor India Foundation and CEE. The project aims to minimize negative impacts and risks to the environment and to human health in the implemented area and promote a ZERO WASTE MODEL APPROACH - zero landfills, zero plastic burning, and zero Emissions, and Zero wastage in Dry waste management in India.
The strategy is to have a multi-stakeholders approach through an integrated model directed to address immediate causes with support from the Hyundai Motor India Foundation and Guwahati Municipal Corporation, by establishing a Swachh Sustainable Business Models (SSBMs) for improved dry & plastic waste management by establishing – DRY and PLASTIC WASTE Material Recovery Facilities, in line with the emerging MOEFCC GOI “National Resource Efficiency Policy” and the “National Materials Recycling Policy”.
Job role:
The Project Officer is to be based in Guwahati (Assam) and ensure the smooth implementation of project activities in Guwahati.
The recruited Project Officer is to ensure effective coordination, advocacy, and technical support may be extended to the respective department/ULBs/service providers/others from the state to the field level on effective implementation of the project.
The Project Officer will be responsible for implementing the linkages with various stakeholders in the working areas to align the execution of the core project activities.
The recruited Project Officer will work in close collaboration with the project manager, Service Provider, and the donor. He/she will be reporting to the Project Manager.
Qualifications and experience requirements:
Graduate in Environmental Science/ Environment Management / Social Studies / Economics / Waste Management/ Business Management or another relevant field with a minimum of 05 years of experience in the relevant field. Working experience in the implementation of waste management projects or working with the State or central governments will be preferred.
Good analytical, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills on the impacts of the project. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
Proficiency in the local language i.e. Assamese will be preferred.
