About the Project:

Centre for Environment Education is implementing an integrated waste management project –“EcoGram” in Guwahati, Assam. This is one of the initiatives of Hyundai Motors India Foundation and CEE. The project aims to minimize negative impacts and risks to the environment and to human health in the implemented area and promote a ZERO WASTE MODEL APPROACH - zero landfills, zero plastic burning, and zero Emissions, and Zero wastage in Dry waste management in India.

The strategy is to have a multi-stakeholders approach through an integrated model directed to address immediate causes with support from Hyundai Motor India Foundation and Guwahati Municipal Corporation, by establishing a Swachh Sustainable Business Models (SSBMs) for improved dry & plastic waste management by establishing – DRY and PLASTIC WASTE Material Recovery Facilities, in line with the emerging MOEFCC GOI “National Resource Efficiency Policy” and the “National Materials Recycling Policy”.

The Project Officer is to be based in Guwahati (Assam) and ensure the smooth implementation of project activities in Guwahati.

CEE has implemented a project ‘Strengthening multi-stakeholder approaches for effective implementation of Karnataka State Action Plan on Climate Change’ (KSAPCC) in 2021 to 2023 to facilitate policy as well as implementation level efficiency of the KSAPCC with a focus on water and agriculture. The project aims at enabling partnerships for capacity building within the climate change domain for enhanced support for climate action. In continuation to this, CEE proposed a monitoring system as a Government-to-Government (G2G) e- governance initiative to track KSAPCC progress effectively, emphasizing the importance of inter-departmental coordination and planning to implement this in Karnataka by training the Govt Officials at district level. It aims to work with the state government of Karnataka to strengthen the monitoring system for KSAPCC implementation.

Centre for Environment Education (CEE), Delhi is seeking a qualified Training Consultant to develop and deliver capacity-building training programs on Dry and Plastic Waste Management (DPWM) and Solid Waste Management (SWM) for various stakeholder groups.

Background

Unorganised waste management practices, poor sanitation conditions in both rural and urban areas pose significant health and environmental concerns. The aim is to address this challenges by empowering communities, making them a part of the decision-making processes and relevant institutions through targeted training interventions.

Objectives

  • Enhance knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) related to Water, sanitation Health, and hygiene domains including dry and plastic waste and solid waste management.

Scope of Work:
