National Rural Employment Guarantee Act Film:
WaRM CEE is making a training film on National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme supported by UNDP in Marathi and Hindi with English Subtitles. The objective of the film is to create awareness about the scheme and create clarity about the procedures.
NGO named ‘Prayas’ from Pune joined hands with WaRM group and along with CEE Central who assisted in coordinating and collaborating. First a coordination committee of civil society organizations in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra was formed. This committee along with the Deputy Director of Maharashtra Rural employment Guarantee Scheme (MREGS) at Chandrapur, Mr. Ravindra Kumbhare, helped write the concept, script, do the shooting and finalise the film in Marathi.
Subsequently, the same film was also dubbed in Hindi and after insertion of the English subtitles in the Marathi film, it was submitted to UNDP & MoRD. The shooting of the film was done in Chandrapur district of Maharastra in March 2008. After receiving comments from UNDP and MoRD, the corrections will be incorporated and the film finalised by the stakeholders.
