Earthian-Paryavaran Mitra Programme

'Earthian' by Wipro is a nationwide initiative to deepen the sustainability education within schools and colleges across the country. Through a chosen theme, the programme aims to engage teams of students and faculties from schools in a set of activities to understand water, waste management and biodiversity in their local context and explore sustainability linkages. Wipro and CEE joined hands in 2013-14 to work together through the Earthian initiative of Wipro and the Paryavaran Mitra initiative of CEE. The partnership involved the schools in the Paryavaran Mitra network, particularly government schools with Hindi as the medium of instruction, in activities related to the issue/theme of water and biodiversity. Under the partnership, 2000 schools has been reached via resource material, besides training of teachers via training workshop at district and school level on the concept of sustainable development, its curriculum linkage, role of schools and teachers in participating and implementing these programmes in their respective schools and communities. Participants were given resource material on to carry out action projects in their school. Many government schools of Rajasthan has received recognition for their action projects since 2013, with Govt. Sr. Sec School, Dodua, Sirohi as winner of Earthian 2019 Award. wiprofoundation.org/earthian/
