StrEESS-Rajasthan

Since 2005, CEE is working with State Departments of Education (SDEs) across India towards Strengthening Environment Education in School System (StrEESS). Under the project, CEE initiated discussions with various State Education Departments. CEE has facilitated the development of proposals by various State Departments of Education focusing on the action plan for various activities such as developing / facilitating implementation of the EE curriculum, orientation of text book writers, development of text books, development of teaching-learning materials, teachers training etc.

CEE with its office in Jaipur had several rounds of meetings and discussions with State Education Department officials for developing the proposal. A quick review of present textbooks was done to assess the coverage of EE throughout the curriculum. The report was submitted to the Department. A committee was formed to discussion the activities to be decided for developing the proposal for strengthening EE in schools of Rajasthan. Meeting held in chairmanship of the Secretary Education. A group of member from the Department with the help of CEE is working on the proposal development. CEE has compiled a report on state of EE in schools for Rajasthan which was approved by the Secretary Education. The Secretary Education also gave a vision note on how the State would take forward EE in future.
