VIKALP
VIKALP- Sustainable Livelihood options in disaster prone villages in Surendranagar District.
CEE along with ADB-JFPR (GSDMA) initiated VIKALP Project to create direct access of basic farm infrastructure support for marginal and tenant farmers.
The VIKALP project comprises of following two main components as mentioned in the ADB-JFPR:
Tool Centres/ Community based Resource Centre
Modernizing Technology for poor
The main objectives of the project are:
Community Based Resource Centres for small, marginal and tenant farmers - Tool Bank, Training and Demonstration Centre
Piloting new Approaches for Income Generation of the Poor
To upgrade the results and experiences from these pilot approaches for further policy recommendations
Improve the livelihood of charcoal workers through technological and financial interventions
Community Based Resource Centre and Tool Bank are initiated to establish a nucleus community based resource centres in 5 project villages for setting out demonstrations and holding interactive, residential workshops/training programmes for farmers to promote rural with appropriate technologies.
