Centre for Environment Education in partnership with Clean Air Asia-India developed a National Module on Advancing Air Quality to provide necessary guidance to Indian cities in implementing the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) launched by the Ministry of Forest, Environment and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) in January 2019.
The National Module is prepared with a view to provide Indian cities with a roadmap to take significant steps in attaining better air quality, and is an adaptation of the Guidance Framework for Better Air Quality in Asian Cities, 2016 developed by Clean Air Asia, to suit the Indian context.
The draft adapted module was prepared, placed for peer review by selected experts and discussed in an expert engagement workshop at Ahmedabad during March 2019.
The primary target audience of the module are policymakers and decision makers at the city level who are responsible for improving urban air quality. It provides information and recommendations to other relevant stakeholders who can support initiatives to improve air quality in cities: Development organizations, the private sector, non-governmental organizations and other civil society groups, the media and academia.

Emission Inventories and Modeling
Health and Other Impacts
Air Quality Communication
Developing City-specific Air Quality Management Plans
